What is coaching, and why would I need it?
Life is a crazy washing machine-ride that often gets stuck on a permanent spin cycle. Seriously, some mornings I can’t tell up from down, and I don’t have any idea where to start with my dreams-goals-to-do list. Life has a way of throwing curve balls that derail your best-intention-train , and before you know it you’re stranded at the Middle of Nowhere rail station with no clue how to get back on track. (wow, I’m going heavy on the analogies here!) You’re putting out fires, just trying to get through your day. You repeat this cycle for years before finally realizing that what you’re doing, the life you’re living, lacks the value you want from it.
This is where coaching comes in. During the years you spent in the Middle of Nowhere, you developed lots of habits, heard many inner voices tell you lies (like, ‘you’re not good enough to do that’ or ‘don’t get ideas above your pay grade’) and practiced staying in one place for so long, you don’t have the skills you need to make your life better.
- Do you feel stuck or unhappy with your job/relationships/income/etc.?
- Are you super stressed?
- Are you in constant pain, and want to live a healthier life but can’t seem to do it alone?
- Do you have a decision to make, but you have conflicts about what outcome to go for?
A coach can help you get to the bottom of your roadblocks, all of the mental gremlins that keep you from starting your transformation to awesomeness, or from finally getting there after years of trying. A coach is someone in your corner, who sees you as you WANT to see yourself. And they help you formulate a plan, based on your inner values, to get you where you want to go.
Coaching is an incredibly valuable tool that empowers you; picks you up, dusts you off and encourages you to get your rear in gear. To stop listening to the gremlins that tell you to stay in your “comfort zone,” which, it turns out, really ain’t so comfy after all.
